Bruce R. Albertson
Boomer Esiason Foundation 2001 Most Valuable Player

Bruce Albertson is President and Chief Executive Officer of Iomega Corporation, a recognized market leader in digital storage devices and computer peripherals. Iomega also is the newest corporate sponsor of the Boomer Esiason Foundation's Outback Steakhouse Empire Challenge.

Bruce joined Iomega in 1999 after serving General Electric Co. for more than 25 years in a variety of senior sales and marketing positions. During his tenure at GE, Bruce led several key growth and brand-building initiatives, including spearheading GE Appliances' move into Asia. In 1996, he was promoted to vice president of world wide marketing and product management for GE Appliances, where he developed GE's "Profile Performance" series, which further extended GE appliances into the high-end appliance market.

Bruce leads Iomega's expansion in national and worldwide markets and supports the continued development of the organization's hardware and software products, including the company's popular Zip drive product family. He has defined six strategic imperatives for continued success of Iomega: build a winning team; enhance customer focus; grow the top line; achieve operational excellence; grow the bottom line; and build brand commitment.

Bruce believes in becoming heavily involved in local communities. He recently was elected to the Ogden-Weber Chamber Board of Directors and was appointed to the Hill Air Force Base LOGSTAR program, which helps strengthen the relationship between the local business and military communities. Bruce personally sponsored the development of the Boys and Girls Club of Weber County and also has been a strong supporter of the United Way of Northern Utah and other local charitable causes. He is a strong advocate of business partnering with education and has actively sponsored donations of computer equipment to universities and K-12 school systems. In December 2000 Bruce was also named to the MacDirectory Top 10, an award honoring visionary leaders who embody the spirit of the Mac community.

Bruce earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Miami and a master's degree in business from Florida International University. Bruce and his wife, Edna, reside in Ogden, UT, and have two grown children, Bruce, Jr. and Michelle. The family enjoys snow skiing, scuba diving, horseback riding and tennis.
