Joe Petri is the former Head of Global Markets for the Americas at HSBC Bank.  While at HSBC, Joe was responsible for the overall management of  sales and trading for fixed income, foreign exchange, derivatives and metals. He also served as Co-Head of the Corporate, Investment Banking and Markets division in the Americas, and he was a member of the Global Markets Management Committee.

Prior to joining HSBC in 2000, Joe spent 14 years in management at Merrill Lynch. He also was one of the first two investment bankers to serve on the Federal Reserve Board’s Foreign Exchange Advisory Committee.

Joe started his career as a litigation attorney at Bigham, Englar, Jones & Houston, a major Wall Street law firm. He earned a bachelor of arts degree from the College of the Holy Cross and a law degree from Fordham University Law School.

Joe was introduced to the Boomer Esiason Foundation by HSBC’s Brian Collins, BEF Board Member. Together, Joe and Brian worked to find space for the Foundation in the wake of the September 11 tragedy.
