New Podcast Discusses Life Before and After a Double-Lung Transplant

05/18/2011

The Boomer Esiason Foundation has posted a new video podcast featuring Valerie Batz, a 52-year-old with cystic fibrosis who discusses life before and after a double-lung transplant.

Valerie, who had her transplant 13 years ago, said that pre-transplant, she was frequently sick, everything was an effort, and due to low oxygen levels, she was always tired. While “life post-transplant initially is a little bumpy, you will get through it, and it is worth it," she says. Today, Valerie stays active and is hoping to spend her 25th wedding anniversary in Paris.
