brings a flurry of activity on golf courses throughout south Louisiana.

And, the White Castle Recreation Association is trying to make improvements
to its facilities with a benefit tournament set Oct. 3 at the Westside Club in
Brusly. There's a $50-per-player entry fee, and the entry deadline is Sept. 30.
There are no entry deadlines for several upcoming tournaments, like the Sept.
27 LSU Women's Basketball Classic, the Sept. 29 Small Business Tournament, the
Oct. 3 Myriam's House Tournament nor the Oct. 24 Hollingsworth Richards/Bert
Jones Classic.
Myriam's House, the homeless women's shelter near LSU, is counting on its
Oct. 3 golf tournament to raise the bulk of its operating funds for next year.
