Family Gears Up For A Life-Saving Ride

The mother of a four-year-old boy with cystic fibrosis is urging cyclists to join a ride to raise money for charity. Sally Shenton, of Light Oaks, is organising the ride with Burslem cycle shop owner Brian Rourke to boost the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Sally, whose son Alfie suffers from the disease, said: "Last year we had around 150 people who raised more than £7,000.

"I would like to get more people who are not regular cyclists to take part." The 50-mile ride on October 5 will start from Brian Rourke Cycles, in Waterloo Road, pass through Congleton and Macclesfield, over the Cat and Fiddle climb and back into the Potteries.

Anyone who would like to take part should call Brian Rourke on 01782 835368.
