Deadline: October 4, 2019
The Paul Drury Memorial CF Sibling Scholarship honors a man who achieved so much in the face of cystic fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis is a disease that an entire family must face head on. The condition many times shapes the lives of not only the patient, but also his or her siblings. The scholarship program aims to highlight the support system that is so critical to success in the fight against CF. Cystic fibrosis siblings are people who share in the daily battle against CF. They help motivate their brothers or sisters to remain compliant with medications and, ultimately, help carry some of the burden themselves!
The BEF Scholarship Program committee considers the applicant’s scholastic ability, character, leadership potential, service to the community and need for financial assistance. Each applicant must be an undergraduate or graduate student who has a sibling with cystic fibrosis - but does not have cystic fibrosis themselves. Once candidates have been selected as semi-finalists, they will be granted a phone interview with a committee member.
Applicants are required to provide all of the following documents in order to be considered:
- Short Essay(s)
- Recent photo
- Letter from physician (on letterhead) confirming your relation and a CF diagnosis and therapy routine for your sibling
- Transcript (high school, college and/or graduate school)
- Detailed breakdown of tuition costs from academic institution
- W2 form for both parents OR tax return if self-employed
