Organizers of the 2012 Excel Travel Ocean Avenue Mile, a one-mile road race in New Jersey, have selected the Boomer Esiason Foundation's Team Boomer as a beneficiary of this exciting and fun-filled event.

The September 15 event will take place in Long Branch, N.J. For runners, the Ocean Avenue Mile is a balance of ultimate endurance and pure speed. The course features two soft turns to keep the excitement brewing, with a spectacular finish on the promenade.

The Ocean Avenue Mile is organized by the Stingers Race Team, a local running club that meets on a weekly basis with coaches and other athletes for good fun and hard running. The team is headed up by Coach GP, who also coaches Team Boomer runners participating in the ING New York City Marathon.

It only costs $25 to register for the race, and there are several categories available to ensure that runners of all ages and abilities are able to participate.

For more information or to register for the event, please visit the Ocean Avenue Mile website.
