The Boomer Esiason Foundation, a non-profit organization whose mission is to support the cystic fibrosis community in the here and now, will be accepting applications for grant funding starting on November 3, 2025.
The Foundation funds programs that enhance cystic fibrosis care and research efforts at cystic fibrosis care centers, research institutions, and patient advocacy organizations globally.
This year, the Foundation is announcing key priorities for funding.
- Sexual and reproductive health, and family building for adults living with CF
- Aging in cystic fibrosis and the comorbidities associated with longer life for our patients
- Antimicrobial resistance
- Mental health research and resources
- Patient advocacy groups focused on social support for patients and families
This year, BEF is introducing tiers for our grant award system. On your application, please indicate which tier you are applying for.
Tier 1: Up to $100,000 (suggested for Academic Medical Centers/Clinical Research)
Tier 2: Up to $75,000 (suggested for Accredited CF Care Centers)
Tier 3: Up to $10,000 (suggested for Patient Advocacy Organizations)
The Foundation’s application cycle will open on November 3, 2025 and close on December 31, 2025.
As demand for grants has increased over the last year, larger applicants are encouraged to contact the Foundation ahead of applying to better understand if their idea aligns with the Foundation’s annual priorities. Please contact Meredith Marden at mmarden@esiason.org.
Applications will be selected for funding no more than sixty days later.
Note, awardees may receive full or partial funding. BEF does not award funding for indirect costs. Award sizes will vary but will be limited to one year of funding.
Milestone updates will be required 6 months after the award date and reconciliation will be required one year after the award date.
Awards are chosen by an internal committee. When appropriate, the Foundation may consult with external subject matter experts. The Foundation reserves the right to seek more information from applicants.
Questions can be sent to Grants@Esiason.org (please include grant title in the Subject line). You can read more about BEF’s grant program HERE.
