Fine Stretch of the Legs Challenge 2012

Fine Stretch of the Legs Challenge 2012

Info

Consider the Fine Stretch of the Legs Challenge (F.S.O.T.L.) as an introduction to adventure racing.  Not a trail run per se.  Not a yahoo-style Tough Mudder or Warrior Dash.  It’s more of a cerebral, yet physically taxing, team oriented event.

This year’s F.S.O.T.L. Challenge, which will benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation’s Team Boomer, is scheduled for June 10 and will be held at Lewis Morris State Park in Morristown, N.J.

In the F.S.O.T.L. Challenge, teams of three will be given a map indicating 8 to 12 “checkpoints” each having a different point value. The objective is to navigate the park in order to collect points in the 1.5 hour duration of the race. Each team will devise their own strategy and route.

Along the way competitors will encounter “challenges” designed to test physical, mental, and teamwork skills.  Challenges will also be worth points. The team that has the most points at the end of the 1.5 hours is the winner.

There will be no monetary prizes, but you will take with you the satisfaction that proceeds from the consciousness of duty faithfully performed! The event’s goal is to offer a fun and challenging event that will serve the benefit of those less fortunate than ourselves.

The entrance fee is $40.00. The first 75 registrants will receive a $10 coupon for discounts at any SneakerFactory store and are guaranteed an event T-shirts.  Additional T-shirts available while supplies last.
