Boomer Esiason Foundation Announces BEF Athletes

NEW YORK – NOVEMBER 22, 2021

As a way to welcome in the new era of cystic fibrosis and to show that the sky is the limit for athletic potential, even with a cystic fibrosis diagnosis, the Boomer Esiason Foundation entered into partnership with 6 NCAA athletes living with CF. Times are changing in CF and we want to celebrate our progress and hope for the future for people with CF and their families.

It’s our hope these athletes can show what it takes to compete at the highest varsity level across lacrosse, football, soccer, and track.

BEF athletes are people with CF who excel in the classroom, on the field and with their health. We recognize the effort and time that it takes to not only live with CF and be a CF-student, but also the effort required to be a varsity athlete on top of all that!

Join Belle, Connor, Emily, Ivan, Logan and Sydney as they share what it takes to be a CF athlete.

Do you want to be a BEF athlete? The Foundation is taking applications for the 2022-2023 class of BEF athletes – people with a cystic fibrosis diagnosis can apply on our BEF athlete homepage.

As Emily’s dad, I am so proud of the accomplishments she has made in her life already. As I think about that, I am so happy for the other 5 BEF athletes that have had to work just as hard to be where they are today. Although all the parents have worked hard also ( kinda like drill Sargents) to keep our little CFers as healthy as possible, it takes a community to complete that task. Our school played a big roll in making Emily’s dream come true.
