BEF Launches YOU CANNOT FAIL Campaign with Sale of Inspirational Book by Jerry Cahill

You Cannot FailThe Boomer Esiason Foundation today announced the sale of limited edition copies of YOU CANNOT FAIL: You Are the Hero of Your Own Story, an inspirational book of personal reflections by BEF Volunteer Jerry Cahill.

Fifty-five-year-old Cahill, who has cystic fibrosis, is a popular and recognizable figure in the CF community. In addition to serving as the Foundation’s point person for programs providing direct support to people with CF and their families, Cahill has undertaken his own personal campaign to educate and inspire the community.

YOU CANNOT FAIL has become Cahill’s personal mantra, and the YOU CANNOT FAIL: You Are the Hero of Your Own Story book includes 40 pages of quotations, photographs and essays that illustrate how he lives that mantra day in and day out. The book is the first part of a more comprehensive campaign that will include a website and merchandise to help encourage CF patients and caregivers to accept and embrace the fact that they are, in short, heroes. Over time, the campaign will branch out to incorporate other people with chronic illness, and, finally, to anyone interested in embracing their own heroism, whether they live with illness or not.

“The YOU CANNOT FAIL project is powered by personal intent to transform and transcend limitations and obstacles,” Cahill said. “Everyday people are also everyday heroes. These people use the challenges they face to better themselves and their world.”

BEF is offering 100 limited edition YOU CANNOT FAIL books for sale, beginning today. The oversized coffee table-style books – including a hard cover and dust jacket – are numbered and autographed by Cahill and cost $75.  Smaller hard cover books will be sold for $30, beginning in late November. Proceeds from the sales of the YOU CANNOT FAIL book benefit research toward a cure for CF, as well as a new YOU CANNOT FAIL scholarship.

To order a limited edition YOU CANNOT FAIL book for $75, please email Tami Amaker at tamaker@esiason.org. Quantities are limited, and orders are taken on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are interested in purchasing the smaller hard cover book, please watch for announcements with ordering information coming later this month.
