‘That’s Logan’: Bryant Attackman Logan McGovern and a New Generation Fighting Cystic Fibrosis

“Bryant attackman Logan McGovern has cystic fibrosis, or CF. It’s a rare genetic disease in about 30,000 children and adults in the United States and 70,000 worldwide. CF affects the cells that produce mucus, sweat and digestive juices. It causes severe lung damage and can lead to repeated lung infections because mucus clogs up the lungs and elsewhere.

But it’s a hopeful story for Logan. His active lifestyle — attributed to lacrosse and other sports — has kept him as healthy as could be to combat the disease. Advancements in medication during Logan’s lifetime have changed the prognosis from a progressively debilitating disease, in which patients weren’t expected to live past their 20s, to a relatively normal outlook.” [Source: Matt Kinnear, Insider Lacrosse]
