Maryland Football ‘Lift for Life’ Event to Support BEF and CF Community

Maryland Football Lift for LifeThe University of Maryland football team’s Third Annual “Lift for Life” will benefit the Boomer Esiason Foundation and the cystic fibrosis community.

Lift for Life is a fun-to-watch strength and conditioning competition that features members of the Terrapin football team. The April 28 event, which is open to the public, will give fans a sneak peak at the squad as they participate in strenuous activities and help a great cause.

The Lift for Life event is organized by the Maryland chapter of Uplifting Athletes, a national nonprofit organization aligning college football with rare diseases and raising them as a national priority through outreach, research, education and advocacy.

Uplifting Athletes is unique because its chapter network is run by current football student-athletes, providing them with an opportunity to gain practical job skills while learning how to leverage their assets and abilities to make a positive and lasting impact.

The Maryland chapter’s Lift For Life will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, April 28, on the practice field next to Byrd Stadium.

The chapter will donate any contributions made by spectators and fans at the event to the Boomer Esiason Foundation. Fans also may support their favorite players by making secure online donations in their name via the Uplifting Athletes website.
